"Don't you wanna stay"

The song I like is Jason Aldean, ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ Feat. Kelly Clarkson. I like this song because of the violin. It’s not the main instrument in this song but it’s played in the back ground. I think that the violin makes the song sound better altogether.

1 good song and 1 bad.

The song I love is “Those Nights” by Skillet.  I love the lyrics and what they stand for. The song is a break up song and it has a medium type tempo and incredible guitar riffs and the piano in the first verse. Theres a two person harmony that has a higher part than the melody. Its kind of a sad song but it has a grey or gloomy type of timbre. Its form is verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus, verse. The interpretation is different because it makes you think of a summer romance that became a sad upsetting relationship and it made life stressful and complicated.

The song I dislike is “Whip My Hair” by Willow Smith. I don't understand the song at all. I think the song has no purpose and it has no harmony nor texture in my opinion. The interpretation is that theres a girl whipping her hair back and forth. The form of the song is verse-chorus-verse-verse-bridge-chorus.

Both of these songs are very different to me because on is a slower tempo than the other and they're the total opposite and they have two totally different stories.

Comatose by Skillet

“Comatose” by skillet has a whole string section in the beginning. It makes the song very intense and heavy. Its very different because the strings play behind the over-driven guitar. It also helps the drums and the voice become more raspy and hard.

All of the Lights

The instruments at the beginning of the song act as a soothing build up to the first verse of the song. Then you can hear brass instruments as Rihanna sings at the beginning that syncs her voice almost perfectly and makes a catchy tune. When Kanye starts his thing it almost does the same. The orchestra in this song makes the song seem a lot better because it makes you think its gonna be a slow song then it just kicks up then breaks into the explosion of all the orchestra at once. Which creates a really nice beat. Then when Kid Cudi comes on he syncs his voice to the piano and brass instruments to make it sound almost like the instruments are talking. It sounds just extraordinary.
